 Established in 2009, the ASIS Women in Security Group's mission is to foster discussion of issues particular to women in the workplace and, through tailored programming and mentoring, develop career paths for women in security. WIS Becomes an Ad-Hoc Council The ASIS Women in Security Group is pleased to announce that it has become an Ad-Hoc Council, effective January 2012. The group, originally formed in 2009, has grown from a few dozen to nearly 2,000 members. The move into an Ad-Hoc Council will allow more leaders throughout the organization and the industry to become involved with the group at the organization level. Leading the Ad-Hoc Council is the new Chair, Linda Harmon of Accenture, with co-chair Normadene Murphy of Guardsmark. Both seasoned security professionals, these women have been instrumental in the group's success to date.
